I just wish to thank you all - each and everyone (I am afraid to name people because I might forget the names . I MOST sincerely enjoyed my entire visit to St. Petersburgh and I thank you for having me to adjudicate your Feis and conduct the grade exams. It was for me an honor and a great pride to see Irish dancing being performed in Russia - so far from Ireland and Cork City where my parents learned their dancing over 100 years ago. I was very emotional at times.
I wish to congratulate all the competitors from the very young ( I remember one very little boy !) up to the most senior dancers. YOU MADE ME PROUD.
I thank you for the lovely accommodation /hotel, I am so very glad that we went out early and had the day to go sightseeing (THANK you) , for the many people involved in driving us (your father included) and for our lovely guide who took us on the walking tour and showed us so much of your lovely City (the historical parts of the City were so absolutely beautiful !!!!- I don't forget them !!). I thank the guides and the translators who did such a great job (so important because of the two very different cultures). and to all who helped in any way to make our visit such an enjoyable experience.
I love traveling and I love seeing other Cities and experiencing other cultures and so it was such a joy for me to experience Irish Dancing in Russia- WELL DONE TO ALL.
As a person who was a founder member of the World Championships (over 40 years ago) and served on 'the Commission' for about 45 years and being Vice Chairman and (current) Vice President of the world-wide organisation- I can only thank you, and admire all your work for Irish dancing - that includes those Irish dance teachers who had the initiative to bring Irish Dancing to Russia - thanks to them also.
Keep up the 'excellent work' and hope to see you all again sometime- somewhere.
